Bridges provides end of life support to people in Sandwell, and is part of Murray Hall Community Trust. They are working to make Sandwell a Compassionate Community for people who are at end of life, their close family and friends. A Community Development Worker has been employed to look into the capacity of people in the Sandwell community to be a 'Compassionate Communities Champion' and the capacity for the future workforce, especially from the well elderly. The current economic climate in Sandwell is having a significant impact on voluntary and community groups in Sandwell. In response to members' concerns, SCVO held a workshop on the 22nd July at the Yemini Resource Centre to discuss with groups the effect that funding pressures are having on them.
