Sandwell Council of Voluntary Organisations - SCVO. Supporting the Growth of Community Action in Sandwell.

The current economic climate in Sandwell is having a significant impact on voluntary and community groups in Sandwell.

In response to members’ concerns, SCVO held a workshop on the 22nd July at the Yemini Resource Centre to discuss with groups the effect that funding pressures are having on them.

Following discussions, the following key actions will be undertaken:-

• SCVO will undertake research on the value of the sector and the difference it makes on our communities as this will help to demonstrate the impact that funding cuts will have.
• SCVO to facilitate a collective response to Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s Funding Strategy Consultation.  Groups are welcome to respond individually as well by accessing the consultation document here
• SCVO to undertake future awareness raising focus groups around issues such as the Funding Strategy and Public Law issues
