Volunteers Requested to Support ‘End of Life’ Project in Sandwell

Bridges provides end of life support to people in Sandwell, and is part of Murray Hall Community Trust.  They are working to make Sandwell a Compassionate Community for people who are at end of life, their close family and friends.  A Community Development Worker has been employed to look into the capacity of people in the Sandwell community to be a ‘Compassionate Communities Champion’ and the capacity for the future workforce, especially from the well elderly.  Champions of Compassionate Communities are both individual people and organisations who are fully committed to promoting and developing the concept and understand the philosophy that there needs to be a change in attitude and community involvement when people experience dying, death and loss.

Bridges are looking for individuals from the Voluntary and Community Sector who have an interest in this project to be part of the Project Implemention Group meeting on a voluntary basis every three months from September 2009.  If you are interested in finding out more please contact Manjula Patel at Bridges on 0121 612 2939.
