Funding Sessions to Help Generate income

SCVO are running a number of short training sessions to support your skills and capacity to generate more funding income. At each training session we will also be demonstrating the new ‘Funding Portal’ that will be coming on line in the New Year.

Each session is designed to be practical and informative with loads of hints and tips on how to secure more funds. You can attend any or all of the sessions.

19 January 2011, 9.30am – 12.30pm - Introduction to funding and writing a strategy

Outcomes

  • Overview and understanding of funding sources.
  • Ability to develop basic fundraising strategy.

16 February 2011, 12.30pm - 3.30pm - Building a case and how to evidence a bid

Outcomes

  • How to use an evidence-based approach when answering questions.
  •  Understanding ways to make proposals stand out.
  • Understanding how funders measure success and what does success look like?

16 March 2011, 5.00pm – 8.00pm - Understanding ways to make proposals stand out

Outcomes

  • Overview and understanding of funding sources.
  • Understanding your costs and outgoings.
  • Demonstrating that you can manage risks; both your own and the funders.
  • Skills and recources - Why your organisation should be trusted to do the job?

All courses will be run at SCVO’s office in Sandwell.
