Conflict between parents is a normal part of relationships. There is a large body of evidence that shows that where parental conflict is frequent, intense and poorly resolved, it puts children’s long-term outcomes at risk.
The training programme about Reducing Parental Conflict was developed by the Department for Work and Pensions and has been rolled out in Sandwell over the past five months. It is suitable for staff from a range of voluntary and statutory agencies.
Feedback from recent course participants:
“This training would benefit all professionals working with adults and families”
“Good understanding of the tools and resources for use.”
“The training has given me the confidence to approach parents where I feel parental conflict might be present”
