Grants of up to £5,000 available to help repair damage to Sports Pitches and Facilities
Sport England has announced that it has launched a new fund to help repair damaged sports pitches and facilities damaged by storms Ciara and Dennis.
Local authorities and community sports organisations are being invited to apply for a grant of up to £5,000 to pay for emergency repairs. The grants, which will come from Sport England’s Community Asset Fund, can be provided in as little as three weeks.
The grants could typically be used to restore grass pitches, to repair and decontaminate flood or wind-damaged clubhouses, replace damaged electrical systems or dredge blocked drains.
For organisations where football is the main activity, applications for funding can be made through the Football Foundation. Any football clubs affected should first contact their local county Football Association to find out how to access this funding.
