The Breastfeeding Network Sandwell peer support team have adapted their service to ensure there is still lots of support we can offer to you and your families during these unsettling times.

We are currently working on a full guide to our services, so look out for another email from us in due course. In the meantime, you or your families can call or text us on 07505 775357 at any time (antenatal or postnatal) ensuring you leave the following details:-

    • Mums name
    • Babys date of birth
    • Contact phone number
    • Postcode
    • If you are referring a family to us, please also tell us your name, role and contact details

The answerphone will be updated with any changes in service, and we will arrange for a callback from one of the team as soon as we can. (weekdays – usually the same day or the next day) Ongoing support can be via phone or video link as needed.

Throughout April we held virtual drop-in groups via video conferencing every weekday morning. From the 1st May this will be changing to 3 groups per week covering broad topics that will be on a rolling rota.

    – Mondays – 12.30pm – 2.00pm
    – Wednesdays – 10.30am-12noon
    – Fridays – 10.30am-12noon

    • Looking after yourself – mindfulness, self-care, breast-care
    • Breastfeeding Essentials – positioning and attachment, breastfeeding myths, early days, reflecting
    • Looking Ahead – introducing solids, expressing and storing, getting out and about, what to expect

Please note: breakout rooms can be assigned for 121 support.

To replace our usual antenatal education classes, we have developed a virtual antenatal workshop which we are delivering using video conferencing. These are held weekly on different dates/times to accommodate as many families as possible. We are also providing sessions for partners/families about how to support the breastfeeding parent.

Places for either course can be booked at bookwhen.com/changes.

We also have private (closed) Facebook groups for both antenatal and postnatal peer support, general chat and meeting other families – links provided on request.
