The Sandwell Safeguarding Adults Board is currently participating in the ADASS #thisiscare twitter campaign.

ADASS (Association of Directors of Adult Social Care) #thisiscare campaign’s focus is to celebrate social care staff and carers’ contribution in response to the outbreak and beyond. We want to do this by promoting and increasing awareness of the role social care colleagues are playing in helping to deal with Covid-19. Help ADASS raise awareness and celebrate the contributions of social care, harness the positivity arising from the #Clapforcarers movement, and increase the understanding of the important role care has today and will continue having in the future.

We aim to explain what social care does through short videos, case studies, quotes, and infographics; a visual approach and personalised narrative to reach diverse audiences. If you have positive stories that highlight social care contributions, can you please send them to susan_clark@sandwell.gov.uk

The messaging is about the positive celebration and recognition of those who work in adult social care, the brilliant impact it has on our lives and our communities at times of crisis and beyond. It should raise awareness and highlight the important work colleagues do to support people in need.

We’re after stories of all kinds: carers, colleagues working in care homes, social workers, assistant directors as well as directors. Social Care is a sector with many different roles, all pivotal to this emergency response and all to be celebrated and recognised.
