Shoppers can park for free in Sandwell Council’s town centre car parks on the two Saturdays before Christmas. There will be no charge for parking on these dates at Sandwell Council’s 40 pay and display car parks. Sunday parking is already free.

Free parking on 12 & 19 December does not include Sandwell Valley car parks or on-street parking, or other private car parks such as New Square Shopping Centre.

Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for sustainable transport Councillor, Jackie Taylor said, “Parking will be free on the two Saturdays leading up to Christmas for any shoppers using council-run car parks in town centres across the borough.

For anyone visiting town centres on these dates or at any time, please make sure you observe social distancing rules, wear a face covering in shops and wash your hands or use hand sanitiser regularly.”

Please note, time limits on short stay car parks still apply.
