Brushstrokes seeks Senior Advice Worker in Housing
Brushstrokes is a well-established project with a proven track record in supporting refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in Sandwell and surrounding areas. The organisation would like to invite applications for a Senior Advice Worker.
Salary: SCP 23 – 27 £22,302.00 to £25,320.00 per annum, pro rata
Hours: 30 per week
Term: Fixed for 2 years
Location: Smethwick
The successful applicant will provide specialist housing and welfare support for migrants from new communities in the Sandwell. Help will be via group sessions and one-to-one casework. Experience of providing housing advice and casework through centre based, drop-in or outreach services is essential.
You will work with the Sandwell Housing Department, local housing providers, landlords and small community groups, creating relationships and delivering workshops. You will also support a team of volunteer housing mentors. The ability to speak a Central or Eastern European language or Arabic, Farsi or Kurdish would be an advantage but is not essential. The role requires flexibility, as evening and weekend work may be undertaken.
Applicants must hold a full UK driving license and have the use of a car.
