    ‘Reducing Parental Conflict’ Training Offered

“I thoroughly enjoyed the course and would definitely recommend it!! It was very informative and relevant to my work”.

Following a number of successful ‘Reducing Parental Conflict’ training sessions over the last year, two further sessions have been arranged in March for frontline practitioners and volunteers supporting children and families.

Conflict between parents is a normal part of relationships. There is a large body of evidence that shows that where parental conflict is frequent, intense and poorly resolved, children experience a decline in their mental health and poorer long-term outcomes.

The Reducing Parental Conflict training is designed to upskill practitioners in supporting parents to reduce conflict within their relationship whether they are together or separated. In turn they can then improve outcomes for their children.

The training is for practitioners that have contact with parents either directly or by working with their children. Practitioners from a range of agencies play an important role in identifying and supporting the reduction of parental conflict.

The programme builds awareness, self-confidence, knowledge and skills to work with parents to reduce conflict and the training is delivered virtually by an experienced trainer using an interactive approach.

The two dates available are Monday 22 March 2021 or Tuesday 23 March 2021.

Final course times are to be confirmed but are likely to be 9.30 am- 4.30 pm. The course is offered free of charge.

To book a place on one of the courses please send an email to lynne_dodd@sandwell.gov.uk providing the following information: your name, job role, email address and mobile number; the name and email address of your manager; and your preferred course date (of the two suggested dates above).
