The Sandwell Adult and Family Learning Service is running a series of free one day Microsoft workshops in February, which would be ideal for people working or volunteering in voluntary community organisations to upskill. The digital workshops are aimed at anyone who wants to improve their IT skills in the following specific areas.
Word: Microsoft Word is the most commonly-used word processing software in the world. This course will enable you to produce professional documents in the workplace for a variety of business applications and learn a variety of text and document formatting tools.
Excel: Microsoft Excel is the most commonly used spreadsheet programme in the world. This course will help you to create and adapt spreadsheets for a variety of business applications including accounting, reporting and planning. In addition, you will learn how to present data in professional reports using tables and charts.
PowerPoint: Microsoft PowerPoint is an excellent tool for presenting information and effective communication. Learn how to create professional, exciting and creative presentations for a variety of audiences including education, training and business.
IPad: This course will cover a variety of applications for users of a tablet computer, including email, video calling, the internet, social media, photography, online shopping, streaming and e-safety.
Email, Internet and E-Safety: This course will cover online searches and transactions, communicating effectively and professionally using email and how to stay safe in an online world.
There is a fast track Functional Skills English course starting at Tipton College at the end of February. The course will be two mornings per week until July.
Also during February, SAFL is offering on-line CPD Courses, at buy one get one free. This course will again support people to improve their skills in the workplace.
