The Eden Project is an educational charity and social enterprise which connects people with the natural world and each other. Through their flagship project The Big Lunch and a programme of events, Eden Project Communities supports ordinary people to do extraordinary things as they build the skills and confidence to create a positive change where they live.

The Eden Project are part of the official celebrations for the Coronation Big Lunch (6th to 8th May), as well as supporting people with The Big Lunch that weekend, or across the Month of Community each June. The Big Lunch brings millions of people together annually in June, boosting community spirit, reducing  loneliness, and supporting charities and good causes, with £22m raised last year; whether it is a full-blown street party, a picnic or a small gathering over a cup of tea and something to eat, the idea is simply to meet and get to know each other better over food.

The Project have a limited number of mini event kits available to organisers who tell them about their event here . In celebration of the King’s Coronation, they are also celebrating the streets, communities and neighbourhoods who got out of their way to be friendly and supportive, and would love you to nominate your street for their Coronation Communities Award. You will be in with a chance of winning a people and pollinator garden courtesy of the Eden Project, a bumper Big Lunch hamper, and the chance to win £2,500 towards your project. Find out more and nominate your street here
