Tell us about your ideas and experiences!

The EHP and Sandwell Children’s Safeguarding Partnership (SCSP) would like to hear about your experiences and ideas around what changes could be made to help children, young people and families get the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

Data has been provided by Sandwell partners to explore whether or not disproportionality exists within local systems for minority ethnic groups and particularly for black Caribbean boys as well as what barriers there may be for all groups in terms of accepting and accessing early help services.  14% of white British children would have consent denied or withdrawn by a parent for Early Help support. This is in comparison to 23% of children from a non-white British ethnic background.

We know that most families need some support from time to time and believe that every family should be able to get the support they need, when they need it, no matter their background.

We have put together 3 short surveys as follows:

    • Children & Young People https://surveyking.com/w/CYP
    • Parents/Carers https://surveyking.com/w/parents/carers
    • Practitioners working with CYP and Families https://surveyking.com/w/Practitioners

We would be most grateful if you could share them widely with the children, young people and families you work with, and encourage completion, as well as taking 5 minutes and completing yourself too.

We know that some people may not have access to, or feel comfortable with online forms, so the form for Children & Young People (https://bit.ly/3YnMvLB) and for Parents/Carers (https://bit.ly/3KVzFRT) can be downloaded and printed for ease of completion – if you are delivering any sessions/activities from your venues or community venues, it would be great if you could print off some copies and complete with CYP and parents/carers who access your activity/session.

The information from the surveys will be used to let organisations know what they can do to make things better for our children, young people and families across Sandwell.

If you have questions about the surveys, or have any completed paper copies to return, please contact Kayte Cronin kayte_cronin@sandwellchildrenstrust.org

A big thank you, in advance for your support.
