The Helping Communities Fund has been relaunched with a further £180,000 on offer to help make communities in the West Midlands safer. It is made up from money which has been seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act and is used to allow communities to invest in their neighbourhoods to improve safety.

Its purpose is to support locally based projects which aim to make a positive difference and which make the West Midlands a safer place to live, learn or work. All funded projects will contribute to crime prevention and reduction, and community safety in the local area.

The Helping Communities Fund is open to applications from Tuesday 9th May 2023 and bids must be submitted by noon on Tuesday May 30th: late applications will not be accepted. Decisions will be made by community panels from week commencing 19th June 2023.
