Sandwell Advocacy: Volunteer Development Officer

Sandwell Advocacy is a registered charity that has been providing independent advocacy throughout Sandwell since 1993. As such, it is a well-established community-based organisation with a proven track record of providing high quality advocacy support. The organisation would like to invite applications for the role of Volunteer Development Officer, leading on Sandwell Together.

Hours of Work: 14 hours per week. Salary: £9,900 – £10,520 (12-month fixed term contract). Location: Location: 28 Wood Street, Tipton

Aspects of the role include:

To work within SA’s volunteer recruitment strategy to promote opportunities and recruit volunteers generally throughout the organisation.
To lead on and manage the delivery of a telephone befriending service to provide emotional support for those experiencing isolation and loneliness.
To recruit, train and support volunteer’s (including telephone befrienders) and match them with those referred into the service.
