On May 24 the West Midlands Combined Authority launched a nationwide competition to find a new permanent name for the bull.

The first stage of that competition is now over, with nearly 2,000 suggestions being sent in.

Mayor Andy Street and Lord Peter Hendy, chair of Network Rail, have now whittled those suggestions down to a final shortlist of four. The shortlist is:

    • Bostin
    • Boulton
    • Brummie
    • Ozzy

YOU can vote for your preferred name on the West Midlands Combined Authority website.

The public vote closes at 23.59 on 20th June 2023 ahead of the new name being officially announced and the Bull getting unveiled in its new permanent home at Birmingham New Street station later this summer.

This is a unique opportunity for you to have a hand in influencing the naming of a significant landmark and a lasting legacy of the Games. Please do get involved!
