We would like to invite you to a short information session via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 21st June at 2pm-3pm to find out more about the Suicide Prevention training course currently being delivered by Papyrus UK across Sandwell.

The training is free to access and aims to provide suicide prevention knowledge and skills to the workforce to intervene early and equip them with the skills and knowledge to have supportive conversations. It aims to encourage all staff to work together to support hte communities of Sandwell, ad each other, to prevent loss of life to suicide.  Click here for the meeting link

The training offer provided to staff working in Sandwell is aligned to the competency groups below

    1. Enhanced competencies: these are intended for members of staff who have more interaction with at risk groups and their role allows them increased opportunity and responsibility, to make adjustments in their practise and/or environment. We believe the SP-EAK training suits this group of staff.
    2. Targeted competencies: these are intended for members of staff who need a greater depth of knowledge of how to support individuals with particular mental health or emotional wellbeing difficulties. They may also advise and support other members of staff on social emotional mental health support. We believe the ASIST training suits this group of staff.

We have a wide range of suicide prevention training available during 2023/24, which you can find out more about here Sandwell Training Sessions | Papyrus UK | Suicide Prevention Charity (papyrus-uk.org), We would like to offer you and your staff the opportunity to take advantage of these funded training places.

The information session will provide an opportunity to find out more about what the training will cover, the type of course which will be suitable for staff dependent on their job roles and responsibilities and an opportunity to ask any questions.

If you are unable to attend the information session and would like to attend one of the training dates, please visit https://www.papyrus-uk.org/sandwell-training-sessions/  where you can find all the available dates and register your space.
