Volunteers are needed to get involved at a major swimming championships at Sandwell Aquatics Centre.  Swim England’s ‘West Midland Region Winter Championships 2023’ are taking place on Saturday and Sunday November 4th and 5th, and helping hands would be most welcome for a variety of tasks. Volunteering roles include:

    • Marshalls –  part of a team responsible for checking that athletes are present and ready to compete
    • Results runners – vital to ensuring the information from the timing suite reaches the officials, announcers, and athletes
    • Medal table volunteers – responsible for distributing medals following the results of the competition
    • Spectator ticketing – managing the queue for spectators, checking their tickets as they come through, and giving them a stamp to confirm they can enter.
    • Accreditation desk – managing entry and exit point by poolside. They will check the accreditation of incoming coaches, team managers, volunteers, and event staff, to ensure they have visible and approved accreditations to access poolside.

If you’d like to feel part of something, and have new skills to show potential employers – or if you just fancy being busy for a weekend and doing something interesting, you can find out more and apply here:
