St John Ambulance have committed to funding their ‘Young Responders‘ programme throughout 2024. This means that they are able to continue to offer sessions free of charge throughout this year.

This year, rather than booking separate first aid sessions, you will be able to book one Street First Aid session, which is delivered in the style of a narrative, taking the young people on a journey through a role-play story that will enable them to learn Street First Aid Skills, incorporating:

    • CPR
    • Primary Survey
    • Recovery Position
    • Drink Spiking/Intoxication
    • Mental health awareness

There will be plenty of opportunity for the young people aged 11 – 25 years to practice first aid and discuss, as the Facilitator takes them through the narrative. You can choose a one hour, 1.5 hour or 2 hour session and each one adopts the same format, but how much time you book will depend on how much detail is covered. This may be delivered in a school, college or community setting.

To help you learn more about the developments in Young Responders and the new delivery style, the Young Responders Team would like to invite you to an information webinar to find out more. These will take place on:

    • 12 February 10 – 11am
    • 13 February 2 – 3pm
    • 15 February 6 – 7pm

Please note, you only need to attend one event as all information will be the same.

To request further information or book a place, please email lucy.fisher@sja.org.uk stating:

    ·       Which webinar date you would like to attend

    ·       Your name

    ·       Your role

    ·       The name and address of your organisation

    ·       If you have any access requirements for the event

You are welcome to attend with colleagues (the request is for the same information as above for each attendee).
