Healthwatch: Engagement Exercise

Sandwell Council are currently running an engagement exercise about Healthwatch Sandwell; a statutory organisation which independently champions for people who use health and social care services.

Each Council is required by the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to ensure that an independent Healthwatch organisation operates within its area.

Healthwatch Sandwell are responsible for ensuring that local voices are heard, and people’s views and experiences are used to improve existing provision and to help shape future services. In addition, where concerns and problems in relation to services have been identified, Healthwatch will inform the relevant people and ensure that action is taken to resolve these issues, contributing to better experiences for people using health and social care services.

The current Healthwatch Sandwell contract is due for renewal by October 2024 and Sandwell Council wishes to engage with Sandwell residents, partners in health and social care, people who use services and their families, to shape the new Healthwatch provision.
