In a world where modern slavery continues to lurk in the shadows, the power of awareness and action within our communities has never been more critical. This unique partnership between Sandwell and Birmingham Local Authority, the West Midlands Anti-Slavery Network, Black Country Women’s Aid (BCWA), and the Violence Reduction Partnership (VRP) brings you an enlightening session designed for faith leaders and community members across the faith sector.

Our session aims to equip faith communities with the knowledge and tools to recognise signs of modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation. As places of trust, hope, and healing, faith groups are uniquely positioned to identify and support individuals at risk, acting as a beacon of light in their darkest hours.

    What You Will Learn

    • Unpack the complex world of modern slavery, human trafficking, and exploitation. Learn about its various forms and how it hides in plain sight within our communities.
    • Gain valuable insights into the subtle signs of modern slavery and how to detect them within your communities.
    • Explore practical steps and protocols to safely respond and provide support to suspected victims, aligning with national guidance and local support networks.
    • Learn about the critical role of partnerships in combating modern slavery and the support available through local authorities, the West Midlands Anti-Slavery Network, BCWA, and the VRP.
    • Understand how faith communities can offer unique support and hope to those affected, fostering a safe environment for healing and rebuilding lives.

    Join Us

Stand with us as we unite faith communities in the fight against modern slavery. Together, we can make a difference, offering a lifeline to those in need and forging a future where freedom and dignity prevail for all.
