Do you know of children and young people in your community who would benefit from extra professional support to help with their emotional health and wellbeing?  Through Sandwell Council’s Covid Recovery Funds, SCVO are launching a Community Fund of £120,000.  Grants of a minimum of £15,000 and a maximum of £30,000 will be awarded to deliver projects up to the end of May 2025.

Grants will be awarded to providers who can deliver emotional wellbeing support, e.g. counselling, mentoring or other therapeutic support to one of the following:

    • Children between 5 and 18 years of age and of Asian or Asian British ethnicity or
    • Children between 5 and 18 years of age of Black, Black British, Caribbean or African ethnicity or
    • Any other minority group of children between 5 and 18 years of age, where an applicant makes a convincing case of need for emotional wellbeing support. This could be age, gender, disability or another ethnicity or any other reason these children are disadvantaged when accessing emotional wellbeing support through their school.

Note: Ethnicity definitions are those defined in 2021 Census.

If you are a community organisation with links to children and young people who need support and lack the professional staff to deliver support, partnership applications are welcome. A list of previously funded providers who have delivered support funded through the Emotional Wellbeing is available and you may also work with other suitable and eligible providers.

If you would like an application pack and are a not-for-profit organisation, please email Barbara@scvo.info stating your organisation’s name, contact details and Charity or Company Number as well as the community you are looking to support. Closing date for applications is Tuesday, 7th May at 10.00 am. Late applications will not be considered. In addition, there will be an open meeting online on Wednesday, 24 April at 2.00 pm for potential applicants to ask any questions about the process. Further details about booking a place at the meeting are in the Guidance Notes and Application Form

For any other questions about this funding please email Barbara@scvo.info.
