What an amazing Volunteers’ Week and Big Help Out weekend we have had in Sandwell.

Well over 1000 food items were donated during the week to our Bring A Tin appeal in conjunction with Sandwell Council.

Kind-hearted residents and local businesses found their way to a library or participating park to drop off a grand total of 1105 items, which we will distribute to local foodbanks which sadly are constantly in use.

Thank you to everyone who donated, and everyone who turned up to help tidy up Haden Hill and West Smethwick parks over the weekend.

And of course, as ever, we offer our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to anyone and everyone who gives time freely to help out, whether it’s an hour a month or several hours a week.

You are the heroes who keep the voluntary sector alive and we thank you most sincerely, not only during #VolunteersWeek and #TheBigHelpOut but every single day.

And if you’re not helping out already, why not  give it a go? With almost 300 different volunteering opportunities listed, there’s something for everyone on www.letsgosandwell.info
