The Heart of England Community Foundation are thrilled to announce the successful allocation of £11.8 million from the Inclusive Communities Fund, distributing 388 grants to projects across the West Midlands, including Ideal for All, MILA, and the Dorothy Parkes Centre.
Inspired by the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, the Inclusive Communities Fund was created to empower communities with new opportunities and legacy funding. It is part of the West Midlands Combined Authority’s Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund, using the Games’ underspend to ensure a lasting positive impact across the region.
This represents a remarkable achievement for the Heart of England Community Foundation, distributing approximately four years worth of grant making in just seven months – the largest programme they have ever delivered. It also enabled them to connect with new organisations and deepened their understanding of the incredible work that is taking place every day and is changing lives locally.
