Lees Memorial Sons of Rest are laughing all the way to the bank! After successfully securing funding for the next two years to sustain their community activities in Farley Park, West Bromwich.

The community-led club provides community and social activities (i.e. snooker, crib, social evenings i.e. fish and chip suppers, hog roast, bowling, trips, etc.) for elderly vulnerable members of their community, to address local concerns around loneliness, social isolation and exclusion.

Their project will enable them to continue to provide a welcoming space with light refreshments, trips and social activities supporting their male members over the age of 60 to prosper and thrive in Sandwell.

John Lawley, chair said ‘it’s fantastic news! The grant will enable us to continue provide our activities to often isolated and lonely gentlemen from across Sandwell.’

‘We’re so grateful for all the support and assistance to develop our National Lottery grant application from SCVO. We couldn’t have done it without you.’

Thanks to #NationalLottery players, the National Lottery have awarded over £203 million in vital funding to almost 4,000 community groups in England in the last quarter!

If you’d like to become a member of the club or would simply like to find out more about Lees Memorial Sons of Rest, please call John Lawley on 07798626154.
