The Charter Mark was developed by Sandwell Inclusion Support in partnership with Sandwell Council Public  Health Department. The aim of the Charter Mark is to recognise a voluntary organisation’s dedication towards improving the Social, Economic and Mental Health (SEMH) of its children. It is comprised of an audit of the SEMH provisions that are already in place within an organisation and an action plan to address any gaps. They are working with primary, secondary and specialist schools, EYFS (8) 5, and voluntary organisations.

The benefits of the Charter Mark are that it will identify what you are doing well, and if there any gaps in your well-being work. You will also receive a report that can be shared with stakeholders and funders/funding applications. The report will enable you to hear the views of the children and people who use your service, staff and if appropriate parents/carers and other stakeholders, and it will also create a bespoke, co-constructed action plan to move forward.
