Debra Allcock Tyler, the CEO of DSC, has been looking at how boards have changed in the past four years, since she published her book It’s a Battle on the Board.

She has observed that there has been an increase in the number of boards who are no longer complacent about how they operate; trustees seem to be becoming more aware of how important trusteeship is and are being more enquiring and more engaged. In quite a few charities, boards are communicated regularly with outside of the main board meeting, and trustees understand that engagement is not just about attendance.

To find out more about how she thinks that boards are changing, and what causes governance to go wrong please click here.
