Options for Life are proud to share a recent success that will make a big difference to the lives of the adults they support. With the help of a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All, they will be able to refurbish the outdated and draughty windows at their Oak Green Lodge hub in Oldbury.
For years, the poor condition of the windows made some areas of the building uncomfortable, especially during winter, limiting access to spaces and impacting the health and well-being of our participants, many of whom have learning disabilities, autism, or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Thanks to this funding, they will install new energy-efficient windows that will improve insulation, reduce heating costs, and provide a more welcoming and consistent environment for everyone.
Nicola, CEO of Options for Life, said:
We are thrilled to have received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All programme to support the essential refurbishment of windows at Oak Green Lodge. This grant not only helps us create a safer, warmer, and more welcoming environment for adults with learning disabilities, autism, and profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), but also supports our ongoing commitment to sustainability. By improving energy efficiency, this project will reduce heat loss and lower our environmental impact, helping us create a more sustainable building for the future. We are extremely grateful to National Lottery players for making this possible. Their support enables us to enhance the quality of life for the people we support and continue delivering inclusive, person-centred care in a space that reflects our values.
This project reflects their ongoing mission to empower vulnerable adults to live more independently and confidently. The refurbishment will improve engagement in day-to-day activities and give staff and participants more freedom in how they use the space. A huge thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund’s Awards for All programme and the players of National Lottery for believing in our work!
