Sandwell Council is currently working on the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) for Sandwell . This is a statutory document that is updated every 3 years and assesses whether there are enough pharmacies in the right locations, offering the right services to meet the current and future needs of the residents of Sandwell.
The pre-consultation draft is almost complete! This includes data collected in a residents’ survey. Unfortunately, the demographics of the respondents is not representative of the diverse population of Sandwell. As part of the statutory consultation period which will run from August-October (dates TBC), the Council plan to use alternative methods of engagement as well as a survey to hopefully capture more diverse responses.
They would like to invite expressions of interest from voluntary organisations to assist with focus groups/assisted completions of surveys/any other appropriate format to help to capture a range of views on the PNA document, and the conclusions/recommendations they have drawn. They are particularly interested in involving voluntary organisations working with the following groups of people in Sandwell:
- Young people
- Males
- Ethnic minority groups
- LGBTQ+ groups
- Full time parents
- Carers
- Residents with a disability
- People who do not have English as their first/preferred language
- Inclusion health groups (e.g. people who experience homelessness, people with drug and alcohol dependence, and vulnerable migrants.
Please see click here for more information. Expressions of interest to be received by Friday 4th July 2025 please, to PNA_2025@sandwell.gov.uk .
