Headway Black Country is open to referrals for people in Sandwell who have drugs or alcohol dependencies alongside a brain injury.
Whether the injury is from an assault, accident, tumour, bleed, stroke or is alcohol or drug related, they can help.
Headway says people who have brain Injuries often turn to drugs and alcohol and things spiral out of control very quickly. They know that recovering from a brain Injury is very difficult if there is a substance dependency, so by approaching both issues as one they hope to help people see a tangible way out.
Courses will include cognitive skills, daily living skills, art and music, to help people with their memory, concentration, speech and language, focus, anxiety, logic and problem solving, along with abstinence coaching, harm reduction and healthy living.
They are also offering counselling services to survivors attending courses and their relatives.
