A local charity has launched a brand-new Corporate Away Day Package designed to help businesses build stronger teams while making a meaningful contribution to the community.

The initiative, developed by the Dorothy Parkes Centre, a registered charity and community centre in Smethwick, offers businesses the opportunity to take part in engaging, purpose-led team-building experiences, with all proceeds directly supporting the charity’s vital work across the region.

“We wanted to create something that delivers real value to local businesses — not just as a fun day out, but as a way to connect with a greater cause,” said Robert Bruce, Chief Executive Officer at Dorothy Parkes Centre.

“Every Away Day will help fund our services, so companies can see the direct impact their team-building investment is having in the community. Whilst we face increasing costs, reduced funding, and higher service demand, we need to diversify our income streams, and we feel that this is a unique and fun way to generate extra revenue.”

The package, known as ‘Welly to Belly’ features a mix of collaborative challenges, creative group activities, and reflection sessions designed to foster team spirit, boost morale, and improve communication — all delivered in a relaxed, engaging environment utilising the Centre’s Community Allotment, Kitchen, and Hall space.

More Than Just a Day Out
The Corporate Away Day is suitable for teams of ten and can be tailored to fit specific team goals. The experience also helps businesses demonstrate their commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and employee wellbeing, while supporting the Dorothy Parkes Centre in their quest to help improve the lives of local people by providing a warm, safe, accessible place of welcome and opportunity seven days a week.

One of the first participating companies praised the initiative:

“The experience was not only humbling and grounding, but it was also an exceptional team bonding day. I’ve seen companies spend tens of thousands on flashy team building events. This topped them all and gave something back to the community too.” said Toni Gibiino Marketing Director, Right Digital Solutions.

    Now Open for Bookings
The Corporate Away Day Package is now available for bookings, and the charity is encouraging local businesses to get involved.
