Active Black Country (ABC) is a small committed partnership, operating as the strategic lead for Sport and Physical Activity across the Black Country region. Active Black Country has been successful in securing funding for Sport England’s Tackling Inequalities Fund (phase 3), and has split their element of TIF in to four sub funds.
The four sub funds are:
• Local Fund
• Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities (BAME) Themed Fund
• Disabled People / People with Long Term-Health Conditions (LTHC) Themed Fund
• Mental Health Themed Fund
Organisations are advised to consider what funding they need in order to deliver their project, rather than applying for the maximum available. Active Black Country expect demand to be high and want to help as many applicants as possible.
The maximum amount of funding for a community body in any single phase of TIF is £10,000. Where a community body is being supported over more than one phase of the funding, ABC will consider a £20,000 total award cap across the full TIF programme
The application process is different to a number of other funds in the sense that it is very conversational. Where ABC are unclear on an element of an organisation’s application or where they have questions about the process, ABC can resolve these on an individual basis. Applicants looking to discuss their ideas prior to applying can arrange a conversation by emailing email@example.com.
