Community Transport

Community Transport

You may not have heard of CT Passenger, CT Furniture or CT Training services, but you probably will have heard of Community Transport.

A local and multi-regional charity that originated in Birmingham in the early 1960s, when it’s founder Rev Bryan Scrivener, found his ex-Army Land Rover in high demand for removals and transport work in the local community. The Reverend found a need for storing donated items in his front room and distributing them to families on low incomes, as well as helping local community groups access transport to get to different locations at affordable rates.

Since its registration as a charity in 1966, CT has continued to grow and now consists of the three distinct divisions that operate within their own right across the West Midlands and the North East of England.

CT Passenger services is our transport division that provides community groups, public and third sector organisations with the ability to hire minibuses to promote social inclusion, allow those with mobility impairment to travel in comfort and safety, and eliminate isolation.

With sites covering the Black Country, South Staffordshire, Birmingham and Coventry, we work hard to deliver transport services for community and voluntary organisations and also work with local education authorities to deliver school contracts and a variety of bus routes. Our CT Training division also delivers MIDAS, Health and Safety and many other aspects of transport and Passenger safety training relevant to local community groups, schools and other organisations.

Helping you make a house a home
CT Furniture supports individuals and families across the West Midlands, by providing access to affordable second-hand items of furniture. We collect unwanted items free of charge from your home, provided that they meet our safety criteria, saving you a trip to the local recycling centre, encouraging reuse of unwanted goods and preventing items from going to landfill.

Our stores can be found in Birmingham and Bilston and are stocked with items ranging from bric –a– brac to beds, sofas, wardrobes and a range of house hold items priced at reasonable rates.

We are excited to announce that we will be opening a new store at The Kings Court Shopping Centre in West Bromwich Town Centre within the next few weeks.
