A military parade and a host of family fun and entertainment are being lined up to celebrate Armed Forces Day in Sandwell on Saturday 29th June 2019.
The event at Dartmouth Park starts with a parade at 11am, followed by a fun day with entertainment, singing and military-themed stalls running until 2pm.
Entry is free and entertainment includes wartime songs from Funtime Theatre and Maggie O’Hara and Creative Academies putting on sports and children’s activities. Young people can also check out the youth bus and a climbing wall.
The celebration gives people an opportunity to show their support for men and women in the armed forces. It will have added significance this year with 2019 marking the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the 80th anniversary of the start of the Second World War.
