Free Diabetes Awareness Event

Clare Court Care Home, Clinton Street, Winson Green, B18 4JB, is holding a Diabetes Awareness Session on Thursday, 18 July, 2.30 – 4.00 pm. The session will be delivered by Tony Kelly, the Diabetes Community Champion. This health and wellbeing event is open to everyone who wants to know more about diabetes.

You will be given the facts to make proper and informed lifestyle choices regarding physical activity and diet; learn the difference between Type 1 and Type diabetes; why are some ethnic groups at higher risk of developing diabetes and why some people refer to diabetes as ‘sugar’?

Attendees will receive a goody bag packed with information on living with diabetes and how to manage, control and prevent the condition, which is has a major impact on communities.
