Giving Children Another Chance Fund

Giving Children Another Chance Fund

The Youth Endowment Fund is investing up to £20 million to find out what works to keep children out of the criminal justice system. Another Chance Grant Round – Diversion from the criminal justice system, will open for applications on Monday, 19 April 2021.

There are lots of different diversion programmes that aim to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in violence. Whether it’s through mental health support, whole family interventions or mentoring. The Youth Endowment Fund want to know how offering alternatives to arrest, conviction and custody, can sustainably prevent children from becoming involved in violence later in their lives.

Youth Endowment will fund diversionary programmes aimed at children who are:
• already known to statutory bodies like social care, youth offending teams or the police
• aged 10 to 17
• living in England or Wales

All projects go through a rigorous evaluation to find out what works. By building knowledge and helping people put it into practice, a sustainable change can be made for children and young people at the highest risk of involvement in violence.
