Micro-grants to Promote Positive Mental Health

Micro-grants to Promote Positive Mental Health

Local community groups, charities and voluntary organisations are invited to play their part in gathering residents’ experiences of mental health support, through a summer 2022 micro-grant programme.

Our experience of the Covid-19 pandemic was a reminder of how important positive mental health is for all Sandwell’s residents.  Now Sandwell Council and local partner agencies are working on a new Mental Health Strategy which will aim to ensure that everyone has the help and support they need to experience mental wellbeing.  As a starting point for developing this Strategy, SCVO would like to invite local voluntary groups and organisations to undertake engagement activities to ensure we hear from all parts of our community and influence local plans for support.

Positive Mental Health Community Engagement Micro-grants are available to local groups and organisations in return for organisations supporting their communities, participants or service-users to complete a short mental health survey or conducting a group conversation on local mental health support (guidance on the format for the group discussion will be provided).  All engagement needs to be completed by Friday 24th June 2022.

SCVO are now open to applications, and details of the light-touch process for submission can be found within these guidance notes.  Any further enquiries can be sent to SCVO at liz@scvo.info
