FundingAccess to effective funding support continues to be one of the highest priorities for the Voluntary and Community Sector in Sandwell. SCVO is committed to supporting the Sector to not only get its fair share of the funding available, but also to strengthen the Sector’s sustainability, resilience and capability over the longer-term through a range of direct and indirect support services; including regular funding updates, one to one advice and support, and the provision of training.

See our funding digests here

SCVO delivers specialist funding and training courses to support the Sector within Sandwell, including for example sessions for those new to bid writing, courses in how to understand and use Outcomes,  and training to support longer term income generation on subjects such as ‘Legacies’ and ‘Understanding Gift Aid’.

SCVO works closely with funders to develop new and better ways of working, ensuring that local Sector organisations are able to get the best applications in front of them.  SCVO organises popular ‘Meet the Funder’ events and works with funders such as Lloyds , Heritage Lottery Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund to increase the borough’s success rates.

SCVO also offers one to one support around the identification of suitable funders and application processes. SCVO provides a free online funding portal, which provides a window to an extensive database of charitable trusts and funders.

For further information or to access support please contact Stuart Ashmore – stuart@scvo.info 0121 525 1127.

In addition to SCVO’s funded services, the SCVO+ programme provides a number of chargeable services that extends SCVO’s expertise to help organisations more closely with their funding needs.  SCVO offers support to Sector organisations that lack the experience or time to complete larger funding applications by working alongside them to complete an application from inception to submission. This service is provided on a limited basis and all costs for this service can only be paid from an organisation’s unrestricted reserves.

Organisations completing competitive tenders for contracts may also wish to utilise SCVO’s bid checking service prior to submission.

For more information, or to access support through the SCVO+ programme, please contact Stuart Ashmore – stuart@scvo.info 0121 525 1127
