Time for You: Children and Young People Counselling Service

Time for You: Children and Young People Counselling Service

Relate is offering a free counselling service to children and young people (8-18) in the Sandwell area, whose wellbeing and mental health has been negatively affected by Covid. This project is being provided by Relate as part of SCVO’s Emotional Wellbeing Programme.

Counsellors can help children and young people explore feelings of anxiety, low confidence, the impact of a family breakdown, loss and bereavement, relationship issues, peer pressures, pressures around social media and other issues that have been worsened by Covid.

The one-to-one counselling will be provided by experienced, qualified counsellors and sessions are initially being delivered by webcam or phone.

Referrals can be made by professionals, schools, other services or by self-referral, using the referral form which is available electronically.

Upon receipt of a referral, the client, parent or responsible adult will be contacted and an initial assessment booked with one of the counsellors. If counselling is appropriate, Relate will offer up to six sessions.

Support is available in other languages if required.

If you have any queries or questions, or would like to make a referral, please contact Michelle Jones, Project Co-ordinator on 0121 824 0303 or email timeforyou@relatebirmingham.co.uk
