(Un)spoken Word event: Stories of suicide prevention and hope

This October – as part of Black History Month – Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is holding an (Un)spoken word event: Stories of suicide prevention and hope’.

Suicide is often an unspoken or taboo word, particularly in certain communities.

Come along to listen to local poetry, hear about the link between poetry and mental wellbeing, listen to the experience of diverse communities and suicide, and get tips on writing your own poetry.

There will also be an ‘open mic’ slot where people will be encouraged to read their own poetry and tell their own stories. Submissions are welcomed before the event. Following the event, a collection of the poetry shared at the event will be produced.

Everyone is welcome – please come along!

The event takes place using Zoom at 6-8pm on Thursday, 28th October 2021.
