Volunteer Centre Sandwell is thrilled to be able to celebrate with all nominees and overall winners of Sandwell Volunteer Awards 2018. Working in partnership with Big Lottery, West Midlands Police, Sandwell Council and West Bromwich Albion FC, these awards gives the Centre the opportunity to recognise the incredible achievements of so many special individuals in the borough.
Thousands of volunteers contribute precious time each day throughout the year to the betterment of our local communities, making Sandwell a more pleasant place to live, work and explore.
This year, Volunteer Centre Sandwell celebrates its 40th anniversary. A prestigious lunch and Award Ceremony was held on Saturday 2nd June from 12 noon to 4 pm, at West Bromwich Albion Football Club. The Worshipful Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Joy Edis was among the featured speakers. Richard Sneekes, former Albion midfielder, was in attendance.
Over 100 awards will be presented to individuals and teams who have been nominated by their organisations. There are eight overall winners from each category.

Volunteer Co-ordinator Award: Martin McNally
A Special Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Peter Smith who has been supporting Sandwell’s Voluntary and Community Sector for over 50 years.
